where we are all a work in progress…

Individual Therapy:
You are facing difficult situations that are affecting your work and/or home life. You feel weighed down by your present and sometimes, past challenges. You feel uncertain as you try to navigate through day to day life. Sometimes talking to close friends or family isn’t enough and you may be looking for an outsider’s perspective to help you deal with life’s obstacles. You worry that you’re burdening your loved ones with your issues. You’ve been considering therapy for some time now and are looking for a space to feel safe in as you embrace this journey.
Maybe you are the first person in your family to explore therapy. You’re worried that undoing a generation's worth of learned behaviors will be too difficult when you are trying to figure it out on your own. You carry the weight of your family’s expectations. Youmight come into therapy seeking answers about who you are, what you value, or how to live in alignment with your own beliefs rather than what is expected of you.
You might be experiencing a wide range of physical and emotional sensations as you begin to process trauma. You may feel flooded with feelings of sadness, anger, or fear that have been suppressed, and it can be hard to stay grounded alone. You might feel emotionally numb or detached or like you are watching your life from the outside.
This is where therapy with me can help. Together, we will work on reconnecting with your emotions in a safe, gradual way. We will create a safe space to process your feelings at the pace that works for you. Together we can build self-awareness, develop coping skills, and empower you to make choices that reflect your true self, while still maintaining connections to family, culture, and community in meaningful ways.
Older adults and Seniors:
You are facing the unique challenges of aging. Maybe you’ve suffered, or are worried about suffering, a significant loss. Maybe you retired or are contemplating retirement and are struggling to find meaning in your life. You’re looking to help yourself and are struggling with autonomy as you age. You find yourself reflecting on your life and are having trouble moving past regrets. Maybe you find yourself not as sharp as you used to be and it worries you. You’re frustrated that your body doesn’t do what it used to be able to do. This all leaves you feeling lonely and at times, hopeless. You might feel skeptical about how therapy works or if it could even help. You might have feelings of shame about asking for help, but some things may be too heavy to bear by yourself. You don’t have to walk this alone, and in fact, taking this journey with someone may clear the path to inner peace.
I work with a compassionate and person-centered approach to help adults process life’s changes and challenges, from retirement and aging-related physical health concerns to family dynamics, grief, and the experience of loss. I understand that aging can bring up feelings of isolation, anxiety, or depression, and I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to express themselves. Together we will create a safe space for you to share your life; your worries, your regrets, your hopes, your dreams, your story.
Couples:
Are you struggling to communicate with your partner? Is there a recurring argument or recurring behaviors that are pushing you apart? Are you feeling disconnected or stuck in your relationship? It’s easy for things to slip into patterns that leave you and your partner frustrated, misunderstood, or even isolated—especially when communication breaks down, or unresolved conflicts start to pile up. If you’re noticing more arguments, emotional distance, or simply feeling like you're not on the same page anymore, you don’t have to navigate this alone. Couples counseling can help you find your way back to each other or perhaps, determine if you both should dissolve the relationship amicably.
I work with couples on communication by helping couples improve how they talk to and listen to each other. I help couples with conflict resolution by helping couples manage and resolve disagreements by teaching techniques to de-escalate arguments, finding compromises, and understanding each other’s perspectives. I work with couples who are struggling with intimacy issues by working on deepening emotional, physical, or sexual intimacy between partners by exploring ways to strengthen bonds and re-establishing closeness. I work with couples experiencing life transitions, supporting them through significant life changes such as retirement, parenthood, moving, career shifts, etc.
My background:
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from William Paterson University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Montclair State University.
As a therapist with a background in case management, I bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to my therapeutic practice. My experience in case management has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities that clients face beyond just emotional and psychological concerns. I’ve seen firsthand how issues like housing instability, financial stress, chronic illness, or lack of access to community resources can significantly impact a person’s mental health and overall well-being. This experience informs my therapeutic approach, as I am committed to addressing not only the emotional and psychological needs of my clients, but also the practical, social, and systemic barriers that might be hindering one's ability to lead a fulfilling life.
