where we are all a work in progress…
Angela Koza, LCSW

Adults
If you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or the weight of past painful experiences, you don't have to navigate it alone. Maybe you find yourself constantly overthinking, feeling on edge, or carrying a heaviness that never seems to go away. You may know something needs to change, but after spending so much time caring for others or simply trying to get through each day, it's hard to know where to begin.
You may tell yourself to keep pushing through because there isn't time to slow down. If you've experienced trauma, your mind and body may have learned to stay in survival mode through seeking certainty, remaining hypervigilant, or pushing difficult emotions aside in an effort to stay safe. While these responses once served a purpose, they can also leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, and unable to experience the life you want to live.
Therapy with me will be a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin healing with compassion and curiosity. Together, we'll explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, reconnect with your values, and build greater presence in your daily life. We'll work to understand the parts of you that have worked so hard to protect you, as well as the parts carrying fear, shame, or painful beliefs, so you can develop a stronger sense of internal safety and self-compassion. My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving and toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and authentic, where your past no longer defines your present.
Teens
Being a teenager isn't easy. It can feel like you're constantly under pressure to have everything figured out - to fit in, keep up, look a certain way, make everyone else happy, or act like you're doing okay even when you're not. Maybe you're constantly comparing yourself to others, feeling anxious or stuck in a sadness you can't seem to shake. Whether you're navigating friendships, family stress, school, your future, or simply the challenges of growing up, it can feel like you're carrying more than anyone realizes. You don't have to keep trying to figure it all out on your own.
Therapy with me will be a space where you can show up exactly as you are without worrying about saying the "right" thing. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or know where to begin. Whether you need a place to vent, process difficult emotions, or simply take a break from the pressure, I'll meet you where you are. Together, we'll build useful tools to help you manage anxiety, navigate life's challenges with more confidence, and better understand yourself. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel supported and empowered to create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey. I received my Master of Social Work degree from New York University and completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training, along with additional certifications in trauma-informed yoga. I have also completed foundational training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and incorporate IFS-informed principles into my therapeutic approach.
My clinical experience includes working in higher levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), supporting both adolescents and adults through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I have had the privilege of walking alongside clients during times of crisis, uncertainty, and emotional pain, helping them find a starting point for healing and reconnecting with hope.
My approach is rooted in meeting you exactly where you are with empathy, grace, and curiosity. I believe therapy begins with creating a space where you feel understood, safe, and able to explore your experiences at your own pace. As a trauma-informed therapist, I am passionate about exploring the connection between the mind and body, and understanding how our experiences can impact the way we feel, think, and respond.
I utilize therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals.
If you are looking for support in managing anxiety, stress, or overwhelming emotions, we can work together to develop practical tools, explore mindfulness and mind-body strategies, and find ways to move forward even when difficult emotions make taking action feel challenging. If you are seeking support with healing from past trauma, we can gently explore the parts of yourself that have worked hard to protect you, as well as the painful emotions and beliefs that continue to impact how you see yourself and the world. Together, we can work toward building greater self-compassion, emotional safety, and a deeper connection with yourself.
