where we are all a work in progress…
Elisa Murphy, LSW

Whether you’re a child navigating tough emotions, a teen just trying to navigate life under pressure, or an adult carrying the weight of life’s ups and downs, I’m here to listen and help you find your way forward.

Children
Sometimes, kids feel overwhelmed by feelings that are hard to understand. Whether it's fear, anger, sadness, or just confusion about the world, counseling helps children learn that it’s okay to have big emotions. In a safe and creative space, I’ll explore feelings through play, art, and conversation, giving your child the tools to express themselves and build resilience. My goal is to help them feel heard, understood, and confident in who they are—no matter what challenges come their way.

Teens
Adolescence can be one of the toughest—and most confusing—phases of life. Whether you're dealing with pressure from school, friendships, family, or simply trying to figure out who you are, you don’t have to do it alone. In therapy, you’ll have a space where you’re truly listened to—without judgment. My goal is to help you work through the stress, anxiety, and self-doubt that can come with being a teen, while also celebrating your unique identity and strengths. Together, we’ll find ways to cope, grow, and start building the kind of life you want—one decision at a time.

Adults
Life is full of challenges, and sometimes, it can feel like you’re juggling too much—work, relationships, personal struggles, dreams, and responsibilities. Counseling provides a space where you can step back, breathe, and reflect on what's weighing you down. Together, we'll explore the layers of stress, anxiety, and past trauma that may be holding you back. You’ll discover new tools for navigating tough situations, rediscover your strengths, and reconnect with your sense of purpose. Healing isn’t just about fixing problems; it’s about growing into the best version of yourself, with compassion and clarity.

About Me
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey. I have an undergraduate degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Psychology from Quinnipiac University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, with a Certificate in Violence Against Women and Children.
I have a background in School Social Work, which has provided me with valuable experience working with children, teens, and families, supporting them through academic, social, and emotional difficulties. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the way life’s challenges impact mental health at every stage, from childhood to adulthood.
My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and collaboration. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, blending a Person-Centered approach with a sprinkle of CBT/DBT, Mindfulness and Psychoeducation.
