where we are all a work in progress…
Susan Barrett, LCSW, Clinical Supervisor

I am excited to be part of the team of Healing Connections Counseling Center in my role of Clinical Supervisor. I am passionate about learning and teaching. I have presented workshops to therapists, parents, and organizations covering a wide range of mental health topics. I find it to be professionally gratifying to help clinicians explore and expand their therapeutic insights, foster empathy and trust, and help clinicians assist their clients in achieving treatment goals.

Prior to obtaining The Supervisory Certificate at Rutgers University, I received my Master’s in Social Work (MSW), at New York University. I have been fortunate in my career to have experienced working with a diverse population of individuals, children, and families. As an oncology social worker, I had the opportunity to develop and implement bereavement groups, art workshops and camps giving further insights into supportive resources. As a school mental health professional, I conducted school clearances throughout the school year and as a Clinical Consultant at The Division of Child Protection and Permanency I was able to gain insight into outside systems and institutions.
